When I’m not doing research, I’m usually outdoors.
Since moving to California from Milan, I’ve traded city wandering for exploring national and state parks. If you know a great spot, I'd love to hear it! Bonus point if it doesn’t require driving through LA from San Diego.
One of my biggest passions is sports. Not one specifically, I just like moving, and making friends (or occasionally losing them when I get too competitive).
Since moving to San Diego, I’ve tried surfing, humbling, but fun if the waves are small and there are no fins in sight. During my PhD, I picked up tennis and returned to volleyball (beach and indoor). In past lives, I played judo (brown belt) and soccer. I love trying new activities, sometimes they stick, sometimes I just learn what I don’t like.
